Head to

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Getting Started:

Remind yourself and the children the rules and guidelines of the museum.

This quest will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete.

This quest consists of 10 puzzles that need to be completed. The information gathered from these puzzles will be used to solve the final message. Once you solve all the puzzles, use the answers (that reveal the letter code) to decode the hieroglyphic message.

You can start anywhere, and the individual puzzles can be solved in any order. But following the gallery numbers will make it faster.

The gallery number is written on the top of the page.

Once in the right gallery, read the puzzle and find the appropriate work. Fill in the answer to the question in the space provided. 1 english letter corresponds to 1 hieroglyph. There are lots of ways to figure any one of the answers.

Tips:

You do not need to solve all the puzzles in order to reveal the final message. In order to encourage kids to complete the puzzles, save the final message for last.
